I’ll just have a water please… with lemon…or not!

I found that all this health information can get overwhelming. It seems that everyone wants to tell you what you should do and in the end you want to just yell “NO!!!!”. But you can’t, because a small voice in the back of your head says “I want to be healthy”
There’s a small part of you, or large part of you, that knows that you aren’t doing everything you can do to be healthy.
Here’s a bit of advice. Forget about all that. Focus on small goals.
You’ve probably heard the statement “A Thousand Mile Journey Begins with One Step”.
Well, start with one step, and focus on that one step that day.
One step I’m working on currently, because I’ve struggled with changing this habit for a long time, is drinking more water. Our body is about 80% water, and the recommendation of how much water to drink is between 6 – 8 glasses per day.
I’m drinking about 2 or 3 classes a day. Clearly I can improve here.
Time to go refill my cup!

Anand, I have found it overwhelming to try to do everything people have told me to be healthy :O I totally agree with you that choosing one thing and focusing on it until it becomes a habit is the best approach. I tell myself that if I can do one thing better today; I will be healthier than I was yesterday. It’s that one step at a time thing…..
Keep drinking that water!! It won’t be long and you will prefer water over other beverages.
You know, I still love coffee, but I absolutely enjoy water too. When I spend enough time with this water concept, I can really see the benefits of that ONE thing. And when you realize that there are so many ONE things… you have to try to enjoy each ONE thing and feel proud of it, and then move on. You know, I don’t necessarily prefer water to other beverages, but I do enjoy water just as much. There’s certainly no bad side-effects with water and I think you get more sensitive to the subtle side effects of other beverages. It’s clean, pure, and rather refreshing. Thanks for the comment!
