Yoga – Mixed Levels


Yoga is a timeless science and is a means of balancing and harmonizing the body and emotions, focusing energy, and increasing flexibility and strength.

At the Fitness Learning Center, we offer Hatha Yoga – a school of yoga that combines breathing exercises and a series of postures called asanas to help students focus their energy and use it more efficiently. Our yoga instructor and owner Anita Deoskar will provide you with the support and education to help you learn the art of yoga and the benefits it has to offer!

 

LEVELS OFFERED:

BEGINNER

Beginners yoga is the perfect way to begin your yoga practice with a solid foundation. You will learn basic postures, breathing techniques, and terminology. Upon completion of the beginners yoga series, you will be fully prepared for our Mixed Level course.

MIXED LEVEL

Our mixed level class is designed for students of all levels – the difficulty level of the asanas will range from simple to moderately challenging.  For students with a basic understanding of the asanas, this class will be slightly more challenging, yet will still provide fundamental instruction, guidance, and modifications of poses.

MODIFIED GENTLE

Our modified gentle class is a calming and therapeutic introduction to postures and breathing techniques with an emphasis on gradual stretching and strengthening. This class is ideal for those new to exercise or with special concerns and/or injuries.

INTERMEDIATE

With an increased focus on strength, stamina, and flexibility, our intermediate class is for those who are ready to advance to more challenging postures and sequences.

ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE

Our advanced intermediate class is only for those who are comfortable with the intermediate yoga postures and are looking to take it to the next level.  This class introduces further variations and more challenging and vigorous sequences.

CHILDREN (ages 7-12)

Children’s yoga is a fun, safe way for children to explore their changing bodies and learn to calm their restless minds. Through the practice of yoga, children increase strength, stamina, and concentration in a non-competitive environment. This increased concentration and focus helps children excel in academics, sports, art, music, and other extracurricular activities.
